Wheatgrass use. What do you use wheatgrass for?
There are actually many other options for wheatgrass use besides just drinking it! It’s non toxic and totally safe so if you have a problem and have wheatgrass around, experiment and see it’s amazing properties! Here are some of the ways we use it.
Using wheatgrass to supplement for food/medicine
By far the most popular wheatgrass use is to supplement with it in your diet. While some companies might state that you need more the older you are, a general guide is:
- 2-4 ounces on an empty stomach
- While healing, 2-4 ounces three to four times a day
Generally the sicker and older you are the more you will need. You want to work your way up to more and start small. Wheatgrass can have detoxifiying effects if taken too much too quickly. This will not cause harm, just discomfort.
Powders and pills are also used for supplementation, but dosages vary based on the product so follow the instructions of the manufacturer.
Wheatgrass implants and enemas
Many people use wheatgrass as enemas to assist the body in cleaning. It is perfectly safe and very beneficial.
Applied to skin
Many people don’t know that you can use wheatgrass topically for relief of many ailments. It’s so rich in nutrients that it saturates the epidermis to promote healing. Just apply it to skin in the form of a poultice, fresh pulp or fresh juice.
- Eliminates itching
- Soothes sunburned skin
- Tighten loose and sagging skin
- Rub on scalp to before shampoo to alleviate skin conditions such as itchy or flakey scalp
- Soothing for cuts, burns, scrapes, bites boils, sores, ulcers, tumors, athletes feet.There are a few ways to use it for the problems above. In some cases you might want to do more then just pour fresh juice over a wound, boil or bite. You can, however, make it last longer by pouring fresh juice onto the bandage before placing it over the affected area. While fresh juice can’t stay fresh in a first aid kit, you can use frozen pulp, it’s just not as good.Fresh pulp is also an option for placing under a bandage. This is my preferred way of helping to expedite the healing a cut, boil, etc. Since the liquid on a bandage will dry quicker then the fresh pulp, I think it’s a better idea to just run fresh juice on the area, and then put a bandage on top of fresh pulp to hold it in place.
- Add to bath water: Wheatgrass use poured into your tub or food bath will help it to absorb into your whole body to help detoxify and deliver nutrients. Good for people with senstive skin and conditions like psoraisis, eczema and acne.
- Poultice: A fresh poultice can be made and applied continuously over a troubled area in the body to aid healing. To make a poultice, use the fresh pulp from wheatgrass, or take fresh wheatgrass and smush it with a mortar and pestle until the juices release. Apply it topically on a troubled area and hold it in place with a breathable clean cotton cloth or gauze bandage.
While this seems unlikely, many people report that it is true. Ann Wigmore suggested putting a tray at the head of your bed (next to your bed) to enhance sleep. Like all plants, it does help to put oxygen into the air, but also puts out healthful negative ions for soundful sleep. She tesfited that it helped many insomiancs over her career. Why not try it?
